This year we’ve seen Black Friday in Romania in the middle of November or on the 21st or, as we chose, today, on the 28th of November. Why the 28th? Because it’s the last Friday of November and in Black Friday’s home land the shopping frenzy begins one day after Thanksgiving Day (which is on the last Thursday of November).
So, since we borrowed the holiday, why not celebrate it properly, including with generous sales? The truth is that Black Friday was born as a starting day for the Christmas shopping season and that’s why merchandisers were so eager to offer discounts. They simply wanted to make sure they’ll have a good start in the new season.
